Team Thing One, Thing Two have traveled parts of the PCT this year. We were also going to do the JMT piece of the PCT and do you think we could find a PCT'er? No—well we did find some at Tuolumne Meadows, but we thought we might be able to find a PCT'er who is a friend of the Cat in the Hat—Maya. But we found out later she had passed through a week before us.
So when we did a Tahoe trip along the Tahoe-Yosemite Trail, which covers a few miles of the PCT we thought we would bag some of them. We were disappointed we did not find any. So about a mile from the Bayview Trailhead, we came across a couple backpackers who looked a bit tired, a bit worn, and talked with them for a few minutes. Then we found out that these were PCT'ers from New York coming off the trail to get repairs. We offered a ride once we get down and our cars get organized. They were grateful. Along with getting a picture.
By the time we got down, our friends had gotten a ride. 'Til next time. We are sure team Thing One, Thing Two will find a few more along the trail to Whitney.
