Last year we discovered Pacheco Pass State Park.We did several hikes in the area and enjoyed the foothills of the Coastal Range. This area was part of Pacheco Ranch, until the family gave the land over to the State to preserve, with the family able to still ranch the area.

With the rolling hills, the oaks
spread across the hills and the grasses, during the Fall and Spring
you get this refreshing stop along 152. Even during the summer, as
long as it is not in the middle of the afternoon, you can usually get
a nice breeze blowing through. Then like an evening like today, we
got to enjoy a hike where three deer bounded across our trail.
