Capture California, the Game-2013
Adventure: 220, Post 01 – Flying the Flag
Team: YOLT
Date:  June 14, 2013
Location: Fresno Veteran's Memorial
Description:
Flag day was first declared to be celebrated by Woodrow Wilson on June 14, 1916 to celebrate the Second Continental Congress's declaration about what constitutes the nation's flag on June 14, 1777. It was later established by Congress in 1949. Flag day was first suggested by George Morris in 1861. While not exactly unpopular, it took until the 1880's when Bernard J Cigrand started promoting the Fourteenth of June as the day to celebrate the nation's flag. The official place where the flag is celebrated is in Philadelphia at the Betsy Ross House. It should be celebrated by the raising of the flag, taking the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem.
