Capture California

What is a YOLT? Well, you may have heard the term YOLO. Gary and Sherri think we can live again, not as James Bond, but as being reborn. Consequently, we are having fun in our life, after all, You Only Live Twice.

Adventure 008- 69: Redtail Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012

Adventure: 008- 69: Redtail Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The next trail in The Cat in the Hat’s Crazy Trail Run at Anthony Chabot was Redtail Trail. This trail goes for two-three miles and crosses roads multiple times which makes it fun to follow. There were a couple times where I had to figure out where my trail went as it crossed parking lots and streets and such. Redtail Trail brought me to the last section of my run, back onto Brandon Trail.

Adventure 008- 68: Brandon Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012

Adventure: 008- 68: Brandon Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012

Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The next trail in The Cat in the Hat’s Crazy Trail Run at Anthony Chabot was Brandon Trail. Brandon Trail is a huge mountain bike trail in Lake Chabot. My run took me on this trail at two separate times, once in the middle and then again for the last two miles of the run. All I could think of at the end of the run is how much I wanted to be back at the car. In between the two sections of Brandon Trail came the Redtrail trail.

Adventure 008- 67: Cascades Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012

Adventure: 008- 67: Cascades Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The next trail in The Cat in the Hat’s Crazy Trail Run at Anthony Chabot was Cascade Trail. This is the part where it gets to be off the beaten path. It leaves the traditional Chabot loop and goes north of the lake. It’s overgrown and a little bit worrisome for those of us ultra-allergic to poison oak.  It parallels Grass Vallley Creek, although it was rather low. After about a mile on Cascade it runs into stone bridge where you have a couple choices for trail. My choice took me on Brandon Trail.

Adventure 008- 66: Columbine Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012

Adventure: 008- 66: Columbine Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The next trail in The Cat in the Hat’s Crazy Trail Run at Anthony Chabot was Columbine trail. The trail name has a special connection to the Cat in the Hat, because she was almost named after the beautiful flower. However no Columbines seen on the trail.
Columbine trail is a beautiful singletrack trail that is mostly downhill. It was probably my favorite section of the 14 mile run because of the shaded woods and glimpses of the lake. I didn’t see a single other person on this part of the trai
l.

Adventure 008- 65: Honker Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012
Adventure: 008- 65: Honker Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The next trail in The Cat in the Hat’s Crazy Trail Run at Anthony Chabot was Honker Trail. This is where my run met up with the Lake Chabot Loop. This section is a popular firetrail with mountain bikers, fishers, hikers, and trail runners. So much distraction with a gorgeous lake to the left and a beautiful day. After about a mile and a half the next trail junction comes up.

Adventure 063 - Lake Chabot Loop

Capture California, the Game-2012

Adventure: 063
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The Cat in the Hat was never one to do things in the traditional manner. That includes the Lake Chabot Loop. I did part of the bicycle loop, part of the hiking loop, and part of my own loop. I needed to get in a longer run than the 9 mile hiking loop for the lake and wanted to get away from the crowd, which is why I ended up doing the route I did. My description of the route is in Hikes 63-69.

Adventure 008- 64: Cameron Loop Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012

Adventure: 008- 64: Cameron Loop Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional ParkDescription:  The next trail in The Cat in the Hat’s Crazy Trail Run at Anthony Chabot was Cameron Loop Trail. This as a short little jaunt (a little under three quarters of a mile) who’s sole purpose was to get me over to the traditional Lake Chabot Loop. The Cat in the Hat thought Thing1 would have loved the bridge that connects Cameron Loop Trail to Honker Trail. Thing 2 would not have been such a fan. It was one of those bridges that moves a little with every step, especially when those steps are running steps.

Adventure 008- 63: Ten Hills Trail

Capture California, the Game-2012
Adventure: 008- 63: Ten Hills Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  August 25, 2012
Location: Anthony Chabot Regional Park

Description:  The Cat in the Hat couldn’t think of a better place to do a 14 mile run then at Chabot park. So after working Saturday afternoon, she laced up her running shoes and headed to the Proctor Staging Area Trail Head and started the run.The first trail is the Ten Hills Trail, which a lovely firewood with plenty of friendly neighborhood hikers. After a little over a mile it was time for the next setion of trail.
