Capture California

What is a YOLT? Well, you may have heard the term YOLO. Gary and Sherri think we can live again, not as James Bond, but as being reborn. Consequently, we are having fun in our life, after all, You Only Live Twice.

Capture California, the Game-2012
Adventure: 008, Hike127 - Rock Garden/Tower Trail
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date:  September 21, 2012
Location: Fairfield CA, Rockville Regional Park
Hike Info:
Trail: Rock Garden/Tower Trail
Distance: 1.4 miles
Duration: 1:21
Elevation Rise: 237'

Description:
Rockville Hills Regional Park is 633 beautiful acres of grasslands and oak woodlands, with a dense mixed broadleaf forest. The rich, biological and diverse habitats provide shelter to a variety of wildlife that makes the park their home. They did provide shades for our hikes. This park is a grassy area that overlooks Fairfield.

There are lots of named trails within this park. We did more than three trails but are counting them as three trails. One trail was as short as an eighth of a mile. So we combined named trails so it would be long enough for Thing One and Thing Two to call a trail.

This is trail number two. This is a combination of the Rock Garden and the Tower Trails. We are now following the GPS and doing a bit of meandering. Thing Two is learning to use the GPS. Before this activity, Thing Two used the GPS to verify the marked trails. We are going up a little hill, then around the Hill. We are looking at the other side of the hill. Thing One finds the Rock Garden geocache, tucked amongst some volcanic rock, facing out towards a cliff. It was at the bottom of the tree in a large white container with a notebook and toys. It was fun to find this geocache. We next proceed to the 1/8 of a mile tower trail. It takes us to the top of a hill with a tower. Back down we go which leads us to adventure 008, hike 128. More to come…..
