Description:
Date Built: 1914
Architect: Cuff & Diggs.

Just down the street from the Squatters Riot and 60 years later, we came across the Traveler's Hotel. The hotel has an “E” shape, allowing all 226 rooms to be outward facing. For its time, it featured major innovations, such as dust and laundry chutes to the basement, ice cold water circulating to all floors, and its steel and concrete structure. It is a similar design as found in the St Francis Hotel in San Francisco. The building itself has been little altered from its inception 98 years ago. While the hotel was built in 1914, it recently gained a carbon-free certification.
