Capture California, the Game-2012
Adventure: 079 – Rockville Hills Regional Park
Team: Thing One, Thing Two
Date: September 21, 2012
Location: Fairfield, Rockville
Hills Regional Park
Description:

We got our hotel in Fairfield, close to Cordelia, so we were ready
for bear Friday morning. Going to Rockville Hills Regional Park will
be a series of firsts for us. It is the first time we have been
hiking in the area, let along the park; our first pay meter at a
park; and it is our first geocache experience.

Thing One is pleasantly surprised by the park. Since it is Fall,
the plant life is cutting back, the grass is golden and the poison
oak is out in its reds and greens. The animals we see are squirrels,
ticks and turkey vultures.

We do go on several trails, including the main Rockville Hills
Trail, The Outer Trail, the Rock Garden Trail, The Tower Trail and
our favorite named trail, the Wild Turkey Run. We also find three
geochaches (not bad for the beginners).
This is a place which must shine in the late Winter and Spring. We
look forward to adding this to one of our places.
