It is interesting how things sometimes come together. Last December, Sherri was a juror on a trial being held just across the way from this building. During a break, she fascinated the other jurors with how there was a full sized house on top of this apartment building, and how it got there. Last year, we wrote this about the apartments:
The Maubridge Apartments was built by two Fresno doctors: Dr. JL Maupin and Dr. Dwight Trowbridge, Sr. At the time, and it still is, an elegant addition to Fresno. In 1947, a house was built on top of the apartments by a Fresno judge, giving a view of the Sierra's. An Otis elevator was installed during construction and is still operating—making it one of the oldest operating elevators west of the Mississippi.
