Adventure: 003, Site 076-City Fire Alarm Station
Local Registry ID: 91

Team: YOLT
Date:  September 15, 2013
Location:
Address: 2945 Fresno Street, Fresno, CA

Description:
Date Built: 1917
Architect: W. D. Coates & H. B. Traver,

This has got to be one of the more unusual building designs in Fresno. Not rectangular or even circular. But it is a triangle. This is because of the place on the street-the corner of Divisadero and Fresno streets. At this place, Fresno Street is changing from a diagonal to being perpendicular. This creates the 96 year old building. The building was first a fire station. And now? It houses the city's 911.

This is one of the only buildings in Fresno designed to fit on a triangular lot. It is used today as a 911 call center, a function very much in keeping with its original use as city fire alarm station.
