What is a YOLT? Well, you may have heard the term YOLO. Gary and Sherri think we can live again, not as James Bond, but as being reborn. Consequently, we are having fun in our life, after all, You Only Live Twice.

Adventure 003, Site 055-Old Fresno Courthouse

Sherri and Old Fresno Courthouse plaque
 Capture California, the Game-2013
Adventure: 003, Site 055-Old Fresno Courthouse
Local Registry-no known number

Team: YOLT
Date:  September 13, 2013
Location:
Coordinates: 36° 44.15′ N, 119° 47.383′ W
Address: 1100 Van Ness Avenue, Fresno CA

Description:
Unfortunately, the old courthouse no longer stands. In 1966, the courthouse was demolished to make room for the current one. But it looked just like the one currently standing in Merced.

So tonight, with our visit to courthouse park, we found the sign which states that the building was here and what it was like. For more on this, see our blog entry from last year.
Since last September, Sherri has been lamenting the short-sightedness of Fresno in destroying this building. But there are some really good things which came out of this situation, namely Fresno has a vibrant historical society and is serious about protecting its historical heritage. For example, there are several hundred properties listed on Fresno's local registry.
