Across the street from St John's Cathedral is the Collins Home. It now houses the law offices of Nicolas Reyes. The pale green house looks rather stately.

Stick, Eastlake influence

This home was built for James D. Collins. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, was elected to the California Assembly in 1876, and elected Fresno County Sheriff in 1898. It is one of the finest surviving examples of early residential construction in downtown Fresno.
