via Fletcher Creek
Distance: 3.09 miles
Duration: 1:21 Moving
Elevation Rise: 120'
Description:
Our Afternoon Hike was to go from our camp at Fletcher Lake to Emeric Lake. It was cloudy as we started but we had our ponchos and started out. This hike had a lot of downhill which is always a concern of mine because we need to come back to camp even if it will be on another trail. The Sierras is always glorious. The clouds and overcast give the streams and lakes that we walk by a different look and feel. The weather is getting more and more overcast so Betty and I decide to wait at a trail junction to Emeric lake as Gary's trots on up to the lake, about ¾ of a mile. As we are waiting we hear a big boom and lighting. Immediately drop the poles and get away from a pack and take refuge under one of the shorter tree in the area and the thunder storm makes it through the area. It is a relief when we see Gary coming down the trail.
