What is a YOLT? Well, you may have heard the term YOLO. Gary and Sherri think we can live again, not as James Bond, but as being reborn. Consequently, we are having fun in our life, after all, You Only Live Twice.

Description:
We hiked a series of trails in the Giant Forest Area. This area lies in the Sequoia National Park. It was named the Giant Forest because of the large number of Sequoia Gigantea groves in the area. These gentle trees are the largest oldest living organism on earth. The groves of these Sequoias are few on earth and Giant Forest has these trees in abundance. The Grove at Giant Forest occupies an area of 3 square miles. There are over 40 miles of hiking area within the area, and we did a quarter of them today, spread over several trails.

With in the Giant Forest area, Crescent Meadow is the trail the most people would start with. In the Spring and Summer the meadow would have lots of wildflowers. The trail is level and you get to see the Sequoia Gigantea Trees. As we looked across the meadow we saw the familiar crown of the Sequoia Gigantea. Before we started on the trail we had met a first year ranger that we had a conversation earlier in the summer when we had hiked another trail. We met a couple coming down the trail as we went in that were admiring our Thing One Thing Two’s shirts. Of course that gives us another opportunity to tell them about Capture California. They were from England and were enjoying the hike through Crescent Meadows. The meadow is fabulous. The trees are great. It is also a good place to watch birds. This was a very good start to our day.
