What is a YOLT? Well, you may have heard the term YOLO. Gary and Sherri think we can live again, not as James Bond, but as being reborn. Consequently, we are having fun in our life, after all, You Only Live Twice.

Description:
We hiked a series of trails in the Giant Forest Area. This area lies in the Sequoia National Park. It was named the Giant Forest because of the large number of Sequoia Gigantea groves in the area. These gentle trees are the largest oldest living organism on earth. The groves of these Sequoias are few on earth and Giant Forest has these trees in abundance. The Grove at Giant Forest occupies an area of 3 square miles. There are over 40 miles of hiking area within the area, and we did a quarter of them today, spread over several trails.

The Log Meadow Loop Trail travels around a meadow with a myriad of fallen trees. As we continue on the trail, we noticed more and more fallen trees in the meadow. We did not notice the trail sign when we first started on the trail but could clearly see where the trail got its name. We stopped to have lunch while on this trail. It was nice to sit a few moments and enjoy the beauty and solitude of the meadow. After lunch, Thing One and Thing Two continue down the trail and pass a huge fallen tree. It had a very wide root base. As we are nearing the end of this Trail, Thing One spots a bear and her cub. We see a couple up the hill on another trail on the other side of the bears. The guy is in another world until he realizes he is almost face to face with the bear. After a major jump he comes back along with his friend to take pictures of the bears. That was a little closer than Thing Two wanted to be to the bears. Again this was another Drop Dead Gorgeous Trail with an added bonus of bears. What more could one want of a trail?
